Dermal Fillers
Conveniently located to serve the areas of San Jose, CA
Enhancing your appearance with dermal fillers is an effective way to restore volume to your skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Injectables are a non-surgical treatment that add volume beneath your skin to improve your complexion. Over time, your collagen levels decline, and the natural fat beneath the skin can begin to atrophy which can affect your perceived age. Approximately 30% of nonsurgical cosmetic procedures are injectables due to their popularity and effectiveness. (1)

About Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are popular non-surgical treatments that help enhance the appearance of the face by filling in fine lines, wrinkles, and lost volume. They have many purposes, including lip augmentation, wrinkle reduction, and restoration of facial volume. People seek dermal fillers to achieve a more youthful look, fill out areas that have become hollow or saggy with age, and enhance their natural features.
Dermal filler treatments are minimally invasive and customizable. You can enjoy immediate definition and a plumper, more youthful-looking complexion. Our fillers have different textures and some are thicker than others to help you emphasize your natural beauty and restore volume to deeper tissue without creating an “overfilled” appearance. Many of our injectables are infused with lidocaine for comfort, and our cross-linked hyaluronic acid formulas come in both low and high molecular weights to help us create a natural look tailored to your specific needs.
Balance Your Facial Features
If you have asymmetrical features, dermal fillers can also help you achieve a more balanced look. With injectables, we can improve the appearance of the face, jawline, and cheeks for a more youthful profile. Increasing volume in areas you have lost from aging or weight changes can help you look younger and healthier. We can inject thicker formulas beneath the chin for a more defined jawline and youthful appearance.
Lip Fillers
We can increase the volume of your lips for a more youthful, plump appearance. Fine lines, known as smoker’s lines, can affect the shape of your lips and increase your perceived age. Injectables are a safe, cost-effective treatment for long-lasting lip volume that can help you look younger and more refreshed. We can improve the appearance of lip lines for a younger complexion.
Achieve Plumper Skin
Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the skin, and using injectable fillers can restore your appearance for a more youthful look. We offer hyaluronic-acid-based fillers that move fluidly with your face for natural facial expressions. Many of our fillers contain cross-linked hyaluronic acid for a smoother injectable.
Dermal fillers are also helpful for reducing signs of facial aging by correcting hollow areas for smoother skin. We can restore volume to your cheeks and temporal regions or define your chin with a slightly thicker formula. If you have lost some of your jawline definition, we can strategically define your jawline with a long-lasting injectable.
Stimulate Collagen Production
Fillers that contain tiny microspheres — calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa) – stimulate your body’s natural collagen production to help your skin renew itself. (2) Collagen is a natural protein that provides structure to your skin and helps it maintain elasticity. With collagen-stimulating dermal fillers, we can reduce the appearance of neck wrinkles, and enhance your buttocks by increasing their volume. We can also add volume to your hands if aging or sun damage has left you with thin skin. Our biostimulatory fillers are made of:
- Poly-L-lactic acid filler (PLLA): The PLLA particles stimulate collagen production to improve the appearance of your skin and reduce signs of aging such as wrinkles. It is strong enough to reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles without looking bulky or unnatural.
- Calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHa): For moderate to severe signs of aging we also offer fillers that contain tiny microspheres that promote collagen production. The thicker formula is designed to treat moderate to severe facial wrinkles and provide support to the deeper folds of the skin.
Brighten Your Eye Area
We can correct under-eye hollows for a more rested look. As you age, fatty deposits under your eyes can atrophy and create the appearance of droopy, wrinkly skin. We offer softer formulas that can add volume to delicate tissue such as the under-eye area without creating an overfilled appearance. Under-eye hollows can make you look older than you are and they can be difficult to eliminate with topical creams or at-home skin care treatments.
Candidates
Suitable candidates for dermal fillers would like to reduce signs of aging, improve facial volume, and enjoy a smoother complexion. If you are looking for a minimally invasive treatment for younger-looking skin, dermal fillers can help you do so without the downtime or a lengthy recovery period associated with surgery.
We may recommend an alternative treatment if you have:
- A lidocaine allergy
- A current skin infection
- A history of severe allergies or anaphylaxis

How to Prepare for Dermal Fillers
To prepare for dermal fillers, we recommend that you stop using any products that contain retinol and avoid supplements or medications that thin your blood (NSAIDs). You will also need to:
- Inform the office if you have a history of herpes or skin infections.
- Stop drinking alcohol 24 hours before and after your appointment.
- Arrive at the office with a clean face without makeup or facial products.
We recommend scheduling your appointment two weeks before any important events. If you had a chemical peel recently, we recommend that you wait to receive your treatment to prevent further skin irritation. We can discuss the best time for your treatment during your consultation.
Dermal Fillers Procedure
During a dermal filler procedure, we will cleanse the treatment area and mark your skin for injection. If your filler contains a numbing agent like lidocaine, we will not apply a topical numbing solution. We will use a very thin, delicate needle to inject the treatment beneath your skin in targeted areas for a natural result. The length of your treatment will depend on the number of injections you need, and the appointment can take between 15 minutes to an hour.
Recovery & Results
The results are long-lasting if patients take good care of their skin and wear sunscreen. After receiving dermal fillers, patients will recover quickly without the need for downtime. After your appointment, you should:
- Avoid vigorous exercise for 24-48 hours
- Avoid sun exposure
- Use a cold compress or ice pack to reduce discomfort
You will also need to avoid any facials or deep chemical peels that could irritate the treatment area for the next couple of weeks. We can discuss specific instructions after your appointment.
